  Highlights of reports received December 6 through December  14 from 
the Niagara Frontier Region include ROSS'S GOOSE,  BOHEMIAN WAXWING, 
HOARY REDPOLL, SNOWY OWL, COMMON RAVEN and  BARROW'S GOLDENEYE.

  From Chippawa, Ontario, December 8 to December 12, a ROSS'S  GOOSE 
among many CANADA GEESE, at the Chippawa River boat  launch on Main 
Street, about one mile up river from the  Niagara River Parkway.

  Small numbers of BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS this week - in the Town  of 
Porter, 2 at the entrance to Fort Niagara State Park with  CEDAR 
WAXWINGS and AMERICAN ROBINS, and 3 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS  with 20 CEDAR 
WAXWINGS on Cothran Road, off Route 18. On  Grand Island, a BOHEMIAN 
WAXWING with 40 CEDAR WAXWINGS on  Fix Road, between the West River 
Parkway and Alt Road.

  December 8 at a feeder on Lake Road in the Town of Wilson, a  one-day 
visit by a HOARY REDPOLL. COMMON REDPOLL flocks  continue all along the 
Lake Ontario shore.

  December 8 and 10, a SNOWY OWL in Buffalo, on the breakwall  off 
LaSalle Park at Porter Avenue. One observer found the  owl by walking 
to the end of the Bird Island Pier, to look  down the length of the 
breakwall. Also at LaSalle Park, 2  PEREGRINE FALCONS, 2 WHITE-WINGED 
SCOTERS and 2 RUDDY DUCKS.

  December 9 in the Genesee County Town of Bethany, a COMMON  RAVEN and 
17 COMMON REDPOLLS on Francis Road. On McLernon  Road, a mixed flock 
with 60 HORNED LARKS, 15 AMER. TREE  SPARROWS, 150 SNOW BUNTINGS and 7 
COMMON REDPOLLS.

  A BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was still at the east edge of the BOS  territory 
on December 8, at Point Breeze in the Town of  Carlton.

  Back on December 2, a Yellow-thr. Warbler was found at the  end of 
Woodcliff Drive in Porter; December 9 at this  location, many AMERICAN 
ROBINS, WHITE-THR. SPARROW, RED-W.  BLACKBIRD, RUSTY BLACKBIRD and 2 
PURPLE FINCHES.

  Other reports this week - on the upper Niagara River, 3 to 4  BALD 
EAGLES on Strawberry Island. The eagles were viewed  through a 
telescope from the Ontario Street boat ramp in  Riverside. Residential 
SHARP-SH. HAWKS in Kenmore and  Snyder. At a feeder on Lewis Road in 
South Wales, 60 CEDAR  WAXWINGS, 5 AMER. TREE SPARROWS, SONG SPARROW 
and BROWN-
  HEADED COWBIRD. PINE SISKINS at feeders in Orchard Park and  Colden; 
up to 50 PINE SISKINS at the Colden location. And at  Tifft Nature 
Preserve in Buffalo, WILD TURKEY, 15 AMERICAN  ROBINS, NORTHERN 
MOCKINGBIRD, and two each of SWAMP SPARROW  and WHITE-THR. SPARROW.
