  Highlights of reports received June 15 through June 22 from  the 
Niagara Frontier Region include BLACK-HEADED GULL and  DICKCISSEL.

  A first summer BLACK-HEADED GULL was still present June 20  at the 
mouth of the Niagara River, at the Coast Guard  Station. First 
discovered on June 13, the gull has been at  the station off and on, 
and has been seen from the adjacent  Fort Niagara State Park property. 
Coast Guard security must  be observed.

  Initially one, now 3 DICKCISSELS in the Niagara County Town  of 
Porter. June 22, 2 males and a nest building female along  
Youngstown-Wilson Road, 3/4 of a mile east of Dickersonville  Road. 
GRASSHOPPER SPARROW and ORCHARD ORIOLE also at this  location.

  A good count for recent years, 6 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS June 21  in 
Buffalo, at Delaware and Hertel Avenues.

  Unexpected this week - BL.-THR. GREEN WARB. at Fort Niagara  State 
Park, and BL.-THR. BL. WARBLER in North Buffalo at  Beard and Vorhees.

  From Chautauqua County, plentiful breeding birds at Wheelers  Gulf in 
the Town of Pomfret. Highlighted by 7 ACADIAN  FLYCATCHERS, 4 
YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOOS and 12 AMERICAN  REDSTARTS, plus YELLOW-B. 
SAPSUCKER, VEERY, WOOD THRUSH,  CHESTNUT-S. WARBLER, HOODED WARBLER, 
SCARLET TANAGER,  EASTERN TOWHEE, ROSE-BR. GROSBEAK and INDIGO BUNTING.

  At Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park, 8 warbler species  included 
PINE WARBLER and LA. WATERTHRUSH, plus 3 ACADIAN  FLYCATCHERS, 
BLUE-HEADED VIREO, 2 BROWN CREEPERS, 2 HERMIT  THRUSHES, 4 SCARLET 
TANAGERS and four woodpecker species -  RED-BELLIED WDPKR., YELLOW-B. 
SAPSUCKER, HAIRY WOODPECKER  and PILEATED WOODPECKER. Also in an 
Orchard Park  neighborhood, RED-SHOULDERED HAWK and BROAD-WINGED HAWK.

  Sixteen warblers at Allegany State Park this week included  
YELLOW-THR. WARBLER at Maintenance Road.

  Other reports - At the Lewiston Road overlook in the  Tonawanda 
Management Area, 12 GREAT EGRETS. In Porter, at  Four Mile Creek State 
Park, VIRGINIA RAIL and BL.-GR.  GNATCATCHER. Jelly continues to 
attract ORCHARD ORIOLES to a  yard in Silver Creek. And, though there 
have been no reports  this season, MUTE SWANS have been found in past 
years along  the Lake Erie shore off the beaches in Fort Erie, Ontario, 
  and have bred at Four Mile Creek State Park.
